Jessica Hegarty was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia following the completion of Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Criminology.  Jess has worked exclusively in family law since her admission to practice in June 2019, now practising from the AFL Kordos Melbourne office. 

Prior to joining AFL Kordos, Jess gained wide experience practising in family law through employment in private practice, government and as an Associate to His Honour, Judge O’Shannessy at the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

Jess’s Family Law experience includes complex parenting matters, in particular those with family violence, mental health and drug themes, property matters, divorce applications, spousal maintenance applications, and interstate and international relocation. Jessica Hegarty can also assist with family violence intervention orders and personal safety matters.

Jess is a confident solicitor advocate and prides herself on an empathetic, less adversarial approach, where her clients feel heard and satisfied with outcomes.
