Request a call back

Property settlement lawyers have the specific role of helping separating or divorcing couples come to an agreement on how to divide assets and debts equitably. They’ll advise on the process and how much you can expect to receive from the settlement. And they’ll investigate and negotiate the settlement with your former partner and their lawyer. The outcomes are then formalised in your settlement agreement. While the process of dividing assets and debts can be highly emotional, our property settlement lawyers at Australian Family Lawyers are here to help guide you and support you through the process. You can be confident that you’ll get the best results with the minimum of stress and heartache.

As family law experts and property settlement lawyers, we will:

  • Advise you on what you are legally entitled to after your divorce or separation.
  • Guide you to ensure that you get what you are entitled to.
  • Negotiate with your former partner and their lawyers to reach an agreement.
  • Advise on alternative methods for coming to terms, such as mediation and arbitration
  • Help you to finalise your settlement agreement.
  • Assist you to minimise your tax liabilities and legal costs and fees during the settlement process.
  • Represent you in court in the case of litigation.

Most importantly, our property settlement lawyers aren’t just experts at property settlement, but at all family law matters.
